Scholastic Book Clubs provide an opportunity for families to purchase books for themselves. The school is rewarded with bonus points for each purchase. These points are used to provide books for classrooms and the library.

Students in Years 3-6 may hire instruments from the school and participate in the school band. The school has both a training band and two concert bands. The band committee of supportive parents organises the hire of instruments, tutorials, and has regular meetings with the band directors. Download and view the 2018 band handbook.
Students from Years 2 and above who are interested in dance may try out for one of the school dance groups which participate in dance festivals and eisteddfods. The dance program provides students with success, growth and performance opportunities. Groups this year included a junior ensemble, boys ensemble and an advanced company ensemble.
Hornsby North Public School has a number of choral/vocal groups (Kindergarten to Year 6) that have performed throughout the year. The groups are kindy groovers, music and movement, junior choir (Years 3 to 4), senior choir (Years 5 to 6) and cantare (Years 5 to 6).
