"In every government school, time is allowed for the religious education of children of any religious persuasion. The religious education to be given to children of any religious persuasion is to be given by a member of the clergy or other religious teacher of that persuasion authorised by the religious body to which the member of the clergy or other religious teacher belongs".
Section 32 of the Education Act 1990.
We are currently able to provide classes for:
- Combined Protestant (Christian - e.g. Uniting/Anglican),
- Islamic
- Catholic
- Jewish
- Baha'i
- Buddhist
- Hindu groups.
Where 'no religion' is nominated, students will engage in meaningful activities. Ethics is also offered to those students who have nominated 'no religion'.
Parents nominate their preference at the time of enrolment but may notify the school in writing if they wish to change groups or withdraw their child from special religious education (SRE)/ special education in ethics (SEE).
