Canteen

Hornsby North Public School P&C Canteen is run by a paid Canteen Manager, a small team of paid casuals and a great team of volunteers to provide healthy food (in compliance with the School NSW Healthy Canteen Strategy) to school children and the staff. The Canteen funds itself, and profits are fed back into the P&C Association and used by the school for purchases to benefit children in their learning experience.

Canteen opening times

The canteen is open for business 5 days a week. They open at 8:30am for lunch orders and are open at recess and lunch for students.

Our canteen offers vegetarian, Halal, dairy-free and gluten-free options as advertised in the menu. If your child has allergies, please contact the Canteen Manager (via hornsbynthcanteen@gmail.com ) for a list of ingredients of products.

Our school canteen offers healthy, affordable food options for students.

Order online

Our school uses MunchMonitor for online canteen orders. You can create an account on their website. All orders must be received by 8:30am for that day's lunch.

Orders can be made up to a month in advance.

If you don't get a MunchMonitor order done in time, call the canteen manager via the school and it can be sorted out without disruption to your child. If you call after 9am, your child will be offered a sandwich as the hot food and sushi orders will have been finalised for the day.

Note: Some items (e.g frozen treats) are to be collected by children from the canteen with their lunch bag as proof of purchase.

Order in person

Our canteen opens at 8:30am for over the counter orders. These need to be in before 9:10am. Please include child's name, class and order clearly labelled on a paper bag.

Volunteers needed!

Volunteers are vital to the successful running of the canteen, and we would love to have you on the team!
Helping out in the canteen is a great way to meet new people and see your child in action at school. As a volunteer you (and your child) are entitled to a free lunch or snack each shift. Tasks are easy and could include making muffins, sandwiches, serving children or creating delicious salads..no experience needed!

Sign up and you may be our next Volunteer of the Month!

We would love to welcome you for an hour or 2 after drop off or around the lunch shift (between 12-2pm) If you can’t make these times, reach out…we will happily make your own shift based on times that suit you.
