In November 2016, Hornsby North Public School was very excited to be celebrating 50 years of education to the Hornsby North community. Stage 1 of the school began in 1966. With a staff of 4, the school first opened for 90 students on 31 January 1967.
Two main event providing opportunities for all current and former Hornsby North Public School students to come and visit the school and share stories of their time at the school were undertaken

Research has been underway on the preparation of a 50th Anniversary Book and the production of poster capturing memories, photos and other material related to the 50 years of Hornsby North.
Photos and text covering the 50th Anniversary events will be included in the book and therefore final printing will be arranged following these events.
A time capsule containing effects from the school today has been planted.
