Community involvement
Our school values strong partnerships with our families and community. Parents and carers can get involved through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) or by volunteering at our school. Your time and support help make our school a better place for everyone.
Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)
Hornsby North P&C is an incorporated association made up of parent and citizen volunteers connected to Hornsby North Public School.
We work together to discuss school and community priorities, share concerns, and support the school where needed. Our meetings give parents valuable insight into how the school operates and provide opportunities to contribute.
HNPS P&C Strategic Vision
To foster an inclusive, engaged, and empowered school community that supports the holistic development of every student through partnership, advocacy, and resource enhancement.
Strategic Objectives:
Volunteer at our school
Helping out at school is a great way to get involved in your school community.
Volunteer opportunities include:
- volunteer in the canteen or uniform shop
- join a Working Bee
- assist with band events
- support fundraising and engagement activities
- attend and contribute at meetings
- become a P&C member
We are a community-based P&C Association that rely on leveraging the skills within our community to fulfil our P&C responsibilities and to deliver tangible outcomes for students and school community.

Meetings
The HNPS P&C meets twice each term:
- Week 3 – in the school library
- Week 8 – online via Teams
All parents are welcome. Meetings typically include:
- Principal’s report
- Sub-committee reports
- General business
Our Annual General Meeting is held each November, when key committee positions are elected.
All fundraising operates under the P&C Association and, along with voluntary contributions, helps deliver resources and initiatives that support student learning and wellbeing. Funding requests from the school are presented to the P&C for approval at the general meetings.
Parents are encouraged to contact the P&C at any time—attendance at meetings is not required but valued. Your input helps us better support the students of HNPS.
